She’s one tough gal

I’ve blogged before about Adam’s mom going back to school. For the past few years she’s been working so hard to become an RN and she did it! We spent some time last month in Mississippi to celebrate her. She is an amazing woman. I remember nursing school and how ridiculously tough it was….and I was 19-20ish. They try to weed people out purposely. It has been a long tough haul for her…and Adam’s Dad. I know that he has sacrificed a lot these past couple of years too. His parents are amazing people and I have more pictures to show about some things they are doing in another post.

We do not travel much anymore, therefore do not get down to see Adam’s family very often. When we do, it is a whirlwind of trying to fit in seeing as many folks as possible. Inevitably we always miss one or two and are disappointed. This trip, in particular, to me was a little different. I really wanted to focus on Mom’s graduation and the girls (our nieces) which I will blog more about too.

But I really want to share these graduation pictures. After all, this woman deserves to be bragged about:

Married almost 40 years!!!

wrong

I have a lot going on in my life right now and hope to soon be able to post about our trip to Mississippi last month but quickly want to share this photo that I came across and just say this whole situation breaks my heart. I’m sure it breaks yours as well. Did they not have a contingency plan “in case something like this ever happened”?

Reporters have said that these little guys are dying by the minute and there is nothing that they can do for them….all you can see is their eyes with their little eyelids blinking.

Proud to call them my family

Here we have a lovely photo of several of my family members at my niece’s graduation. Don’t we look like such a nice group of folks?

The gentleman with the black shirt and his head down is Grandpa Jake, then there is myself of course looking for the kill apparently, my mother is sitting to the right of me, behind her to the left in the blue is my little brother and to the right is my older brother and the girl in the brown in the front to the left is #5…aka Anna Banana.

I just want to thank Adam for getting the “good side” of us in this photo. Ha!
