Chinese Fire Drill….Gone Wrong

Adam and I love chinese fire drills. We do them all the time with my sister’s kids…just to make them laugh. When we do them with my little brother it is for pure competition. I’m talkin’ who can run around the car more times and even who can run around the most cars (yeah, you read right….other people’s cars!) at a red light.

While in Mississippi we pulled up to a red light and Adam’s sister’s girls were with us and I nudged Adam like I do normally as the “it’s a go for the drill” type of warning. He about tackled me in the car right there. I guess running around your car and maybe other people’s cars in the delta might get me shot….or so Adam says.

His sister’s girls are coming in less than two weeks to stay with us for at least a couple of weeks. Yay!!!! We are counting down the hours. I, personally, cannot wait. Adam, unfortunately does not have the vacation time but I get to take off and be with them! Double Yay! And, guess what we are going to do…a chinese fire drill.

Anyways, last weekend my little brother was in town for some wedding planning and he was in the car in front of us with some of his friends and we were at a red light and he decided to do a drill. Out he comes and at the same time the light goes a’ green. In hindsight he says he heard his friend say as he was getting out of the car “hey, this is a really short light!”. Jesse decided to make this particular drill a double and was heading back to also run around our car and I was pointing at the light saying it’s green, it’s green~so what does he do? Opens my door and decided to squish in with me. All 6’4 ” 250lbs of him folding up into some odd contortion on top of me. And, imagine Adam just happened to have his camera:

Man I love this guy

Actually, I call him boy. And have so for as long as I can remember. Either boy or brother but never by his name. Not sure why. He calls me sister. Just kind of a strange thing really but it works for us. Next to Adam I can honestly say that he is really my best friend.

Adam and I have been sorting through thousands (literally) of pictures to put together a slide show for my niece’s upcoming graduation and I stumbled across these photos that I NEVER saw. Some of the pictures we are going through came off of my sister’s hard drive so I haven’t seen until now. I ’bout fell off my chair folks when I saw these three. My sister’s dog Copper had some sort of injury last year and had to wear the infamous cone but I never heard of this happening! And, yes it is a REAL lampshade around his neck and yes I bet he will be real shocked when he sees these pictures on here as he probably never thought they would re-surface. Brother~you’re the best. You crack me up!

Cake tasting and a little bonzai with the fam

My brother and his fiancee flew in the past weekend to do some wedding things (their date is August 7th). Their visit was VERY brief but we are just thankful we got to see them at all as it has been several months. We joined them in Grand Island on Sunday to do a lil’ cake tastin’ and all I have to say is…I want to know which tier has the red velvet at the wedding.

Jesse and the best mom in the whole wide world

Jesse, Adam and two hotties (named Linden and Shana)

We then joined Linden’s family at our most favoritest pizza place on planet earth…Bonzai Pizza. We haven’t been in years but we love it. I conned my brother to share a pizza with me that had ricotta cheese~yum yum yum!!! A little foosball and jukebox. All good. Jesse will be back next month for our niece’s graduation (yay!!!) and Linden in June for her first bridal shower (double yay!!).

The best pizza ever...Bonzai!

Isn’t she gorgeous?

Okay, he isn’t too bad either I guess. Awhile back I put a couple of engagement photos of my baby brother Jesse and his bride-to-be Linden but we got the real deal for Christmas! Yay! And, here they are scanned in. The last one isn’t the clearest but it is really cool as they chose what they call a “metallic” type finish to it so it is kind of shiny and glows almost. Hard to describe but real nice, Clark. It was taken in the dark. All of them were taken in Glacier National Park.
