Nice try

These past three weeks have been a whirlwind. To top it off Adam had a horrible cold but this past weekend he tried to help out by doing a load of laundry. I came home from seeing a patient in the ER to this….he left an entire pack of kleenex in his pocket!

The culprit....on the left that is

Pink EVERYWHERE you look, I mean EVERYWHERE!!

At least a couple of times each year Adam and I try to go to the theater, usually to see something from Broadway Across America. We’ve seen Grease, Stomp, Annie, etc. Last month we had tickets to a show and I told Adam about a day he needed to be sure to get off early so we could get to Omaha early enough. He didn’t ask any further questions, just simply replied “ok” knowing that this is just something we always do for fun.

So.

As we are driving towards the Orpheum Theater Adam casually asks what we are seeing and I tell him:

If there were not gazillions of cars surrounding us we probably would have stopped right there. Don’t get me wrong. Adam will watch girly movies with me any day of the week at home….because I like them but this put him a little over the top. He immediately started negotiations as to what “guy” type of thing he would get for going to this show.

Pink. Everywhere we turned. Starting several blocks away. Pink heels, pink umbrellas, pink coats, pink skirts, pink hats, pink feather boas, pink sun glasses, pink purses, pink pink pink. Not a guy in the bunch either. Imagine that! As we walk in they had the “Legally Blonde” special for a drink and guess what color it was? You’re right!!! PINK! They even sold pink feather boas if you forgot yours at home!

After we got settled we figured there were probably about 10% guys there. We had awesome seats. The show was amazing and so far my favorite (and…although he may not admit it, Adam says it is his second favorite!). It was actually very true to the movie so was hilarious. This was Elle:

She was very pink, as you can see and even had her dog, Bruiser with her. This picture quality is horrid as cameras were not allowed but we just had to take this somehow to show you how into being “pink” this lady was! Check her hat out!!!

Finally, one last picture Adam took of us…and I am laughing as I type this because I am realizing that even though this is a black and white pic…I am just now realizing that my fleece jacket was pink and brown!

Funny things overheard…

1.) While shopping at JC Penneys there were two African American women riding up the escalator discussing the quickest way to get back to their car. One lady said she didn’t care as long as it was the fastest because she “has a headache”. Her friend replied by saying “You sound like a white woman!”.

2.) My four-year old niece overheard my sister and her mother-in-law talking about my sister’s blackberry to which my niece asked “can I have a blueberry?”.

3.) My sister’s neighbors came to visit while we were at my sister’s home this past weekend. They have a four-year old. They were getting ready to go on a camping trip and Adam asked the little girl where they were going camping. Her reply? “One movie away”.

Man I love this guy

Actually, I call him boy. And have so for as long as I can remember. Either boy or brother but never by his name. Not sure why. He calls me sister. Just kind of a strange thing really but it works for us. Next to Adam I can honestly say that he is really my best friend.

Adam and I have been sorting through thousands (literally) of pictures to put together a slide show for my niece’s upcoming graduation and I stumbled across these photos that I NEVER saw. Some of the pictures we are going through came off of my sister’s hard drive so I haven’t seen until now. I ’bout fell off my chair folks when I saw these three. My sister’s dog Copper had some sort of injury last year and had to wear the infamous cone but I never heard of this happening! And, yes it is a REAL lampshade around his neck and yes I bet he will be real shocked when he sees these pictures on here as he probably never thought they would re-surface. Brother~you’re the best. You crack me up!
